13 shots from a captive bolt pistol on a big beefmaster heifer. 11th grade meat cutting class in high school vo-tech.
Same thing with me but with a .22.
I was about 12-13 and we were dropping a heifer one day behind the house.
I shot her between the eyes about 6 times but she wouldn't go down.
My dad gets pissed at me for fluffing the shot so he takes a couple shots. Still standing.
Then my grandad takes a couple shots and she finally went down.
Worst day ever. I hated shooting cows after that.
