18 one year on a big club in north Baldwin county, back in the DMP days. The place was so overcrowded they gave out over 300 doe tags. I knew one guy who regularly killed 30 or so each year. We didn't waste any of it--there were poor families, both black and white, that would gladly take the animal and process it themselves. It took years of this before we started seeing increases in body weight and antler mass.

my grandpa and I hunted some land in Harris County, GA. The landowner wanted every deer gone. One year we had a black guy in lanett ask us for some deer, how many we ask,all you can bring me he answered. Well that was a mistake, he had a broken down Chevy pickup parked in the street and we loaded it down every night for about 2 weeks. He finally made it a point to track us down and beg us not to bring him anymore. I had pictures of us in the back of a long bed ford with deer stacked higher than the bed. We always slowed down on the killing when we couldn't find anyone to take them.

That is what I said in my first post.

Every time you guys start complaining about not seeing deer and want to stop the season or stop killing does, you need to pull this thread up and see the real reason you aren't seeing deer.

Yep.

I'm going to chime in for my neighbors:

On the east side he's around 15.

West side he's probably more in the 20-25 neighborhood. and kids maybe another 10-15 mostly spikes, button bucks and 40lb does.

He told me one time a couple years ago he was upset he only got 22 this year. I assumed does but I asked him if any were big and he said Naw! I don't shoot many does my kids do I killed mostly spikes and stuff nothing big enough to hang on the wall. Those were his words.

6 in a year is the most for me. Just too lazy to do any further damage. LOL!

yall must not hunted the mountains in Jackson County. If you killed 15, 20, 30 in a year in those mountains you'd be the strongest sumbuck around!

Most in any one year was 9 in mid 90's.: 6 bucks, 3 does. I have killed 2 bucks in the last 3 years. No does. I shoot pigs instead of does these days.
