My plant makes 100 million per year net profit.
Which mill? That number seems high That's what I was thinking. That's as much as about twenty Wal-Mart Supercenters combined.

All these southern plants pay a competitive wage and offer good benefits so they DONT have to deal with a union. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for all of y'all that work in these auto plants and make good money.... but don't act like the union is the devil while reaping the benefits of a pay scale that has largely been determined by unionized plants that came before you.

I'll be the first to say that at one time unions were necessary and responsible for a lot that we take for granted.
Today in 2017 the UAW is irrelevant corrupt greedy group that is struggling to justify their own existence.

i think the average i heard for canton plant is $50k. there is no bargaining power in a "right to fire" state for the union, so it only reveals their need for membership dues. 63-37 NO vote, so there are more that believe that nissan america has no problem with pulling up ties and dropping them in another state...or even south of the border...than those that think they are bluffing. management/professional positions didn't get a vote and weren't to discuss the vote with floor employees, unless they were asked a specific question (a friend is an engineer at canton and a cousin is on the floor).
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....

I was probably a little jumpy from the last union thread that we had going. I honestly don't know anything about the UAW.

To wrap up my opinion on the UAW being a disaster.
If the UAW is such a great success, why have plants that the UAW is/was in closed at a rate that is vastly higher than plants they're not in.
That answer is very simple.

Unions were needed once, no longer. Look at Mercedes. They are doing just fine and paying great wages. They don't need unions to have affirmative action. Hell, they even hire midgets! Oh excuse me"LITTLE PEOPLE"!

Our plant wasn't far from that the last 4 months. I think last year was around 120 million. But our business is very cynical, some years are tough and some years and just crazy.
