Keeping the unions out of manufacturing is crucial to stay competitive in a global economy. Automotive manufacturing has pushed South to get away from unions and will likely continue further south into Mexico.

I really dont care for unions myself. But on the other hand I can see where Nissan needs something. I have worked for Nissan, while there are good jobs there. There are alot of bad things that go on at the plants. Most are management issues. I hope I never get to the point where I would need to go back to work for Nissan. But I'm sure the same issues are a problem at Honda and Toyota also.

I work for Nissan at the Decherd plant. I like what I do but production work is tough and has some stress with it. When I get my check at the end of the week it makes up for the tough weeks. This Canton ordeal has been a big topic at work and the rumor was if it was voted in it would be relocated. They where already looking at land in South Carolina.

I'm a member of a union. United Steelworkers.
I live a pretty decent life, make enough money and have good benefits.
My plant makes 100 million per year net profit.
Why do you all think unions are bad?
How much do the workers at that plant make?

They have come to the south because labor is cheaper there are no unions to speak of and most states if not all are right to work (which really mans right to fire) states, and they get millions in tax breaks. Very pro business anti worker in the south.
If you're gonna be stupid you better be tough.
