5. 3 bucks and two does. Last year. It was really my first year to spend any amount of time deer hunting. Killed two with my bow and 3 with the gun.

Killed 6 one year and 5 the next. I've hit 3-4 a season a few times since but it's 2-3 now. Year I killed 6 I think 5 were bucks. It was a good year.

5 for me is the most in one year. I eat every one I kill, and 5 is all I'll eat in a year.

Every time you guys start complaining about not seeing deer and want to stop the season or stop killing does, you need to pull this thread up and see the real reason you aren't seeing deer.

I did kill 11 does one day, rifle from a tree stand. Waaaay south Alabama on a BIG dogs place. Fella with me killed 17 same day.

I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I can assure you for me it stopped being fun. It was work. It also changed me and views on deer hunting....along with me just getting older. Going out killing deer after deer is like being a guide, it starts out glamorous but ends with you working your butt off without much sleep. Neither one for me ever again.

Nothing like a lot of the guys but 32 . 17 bucks nothing smaller than a 6 biggest was a 12 and 15 does. I was a outlaw in my younger days. Tried to make sure whoever I knew that needed the meat got at least one. Nothing went to waste but the normal stuff

4 is the most I ever killed in one year can't eat no more than that in a year.

I ain't never been as mad at them as some of yall even when I was young.

It is amazing how when the state said we got to many deer and starting giving all the doe days seems most people didn't have a problem following them new rules. But now if they want to reduce the limit Or take any of those doe days away all hell breaks loose. Lot easier to give folks stuff than it is to take it away. Funny how that works with just about everything.

Like Jerry said, reducing a population is no fun except for the few seconds before and after the trigger pull. No fun in the thrill of the hunt aspect when you know you are going to shoot something and then all the dragging, loading, weighing, jawbone pulling and cleaning or taking to the processor gets to be to much like work to be fun.

Please don't misunderstand me. I am grateful to have been in that situation and I know there are a lot of hunters that would give their left ball to be in a situation like that. Just saying that the fun goes away pretty quickly.

25 total in one season (probably around 1988/89). All of those were with a Remington 1100 slug gun at the Anniston Army Depot. We would man-drive the place and for all the teenagers like me at the time, our rule was "don't let ANYTHING cross this road!!" LOL

Killed 17 another season after I was an adult, 14 of them with a bow. This was land in Chambers Co...extremely high deer density, as long as the white oaks had acorns, you could literally shoot at least a doe every single morning and afternoon. Multiple times on that land I've had a large bunch of deer on a white oak ridge at the same time, you'd shoot one, and the others wouldn't react. Just knock another arra and within a minute or two you could shoot another one. Then another one.

I currently hunt a military base where the rule was (for a few years anyway) that if you killed your first buck, you had to kill two does before you could kill your 2nd buck. You were allowed 1 buck and 2 does per day, so multiple times I've killed 3 all at once.

A lot, but not for sport. Back in the early to mid 80s we had a place in Wilcox County on the old doe tag program. My dad wanted them killed early in the season, and away from food plots and bedding areas, and alternating different sides of the property. After Thanksgiving weekend it was doe thinning time. Then we would let the place rest for about 2 weeks. Before hunt for the hungry we kept a lot of the freezers full around Miller's Ferry.

Looking back, it really improved my hunting skills, having to locate different spots in the woods that would not pressurize bedding areas or food sources, and improved my in-field shooting skills more than any amount of range time could have. But, at the time it was work and I was sick of dragging and field dressing deer way before Christmas. Which, I think was part of his plan too, so that I would have no desire to shoot young bucks when we went back to "hunting".
