I will say this, there is a great amount of skill in blackjack(counting cards), texas hold'em, billiards, and fishing. There is no skill in roullette, bingo, or slot machines. There is also alot of skill involved in playing the stock market. The skill/no skill factor does not determine whether something is gambling or not. The laws are very vague on where the line is drawn. These pro fishermen do alot more than just fish, it is a job for them. when they are not on the water, they are working boat shows and conventions for their sponsors.

Now for the weekend warrior, it is a hobby. some people spend their money on snowboarding or RC planes, some people fish tournaments. I have fished tournaments for 20 years and have never won more than $800 at any one time. It helps to offset the cost of my hobby, but doesn't come close to paying for it so I don't feel like it's gambling. I would still fish if they outlawed tournaments just like some would still play poker or bingo for fun.

I think there is a tremendous amount of skill in eating a plate of pancakes. You want the perfect mix of syrup,butter, and pancake. This is not easy, and there is a good "chance" you will mess this up. I use "skill" to cut a hole throught the middle of the stack. I then take a "chance" in pouring the syrup in the middle. I then "skillfully" add the butter and stir it up.

This is harder with a short stack because the hole is not as deep. Anyway with enough "skill" you can get the perfect stack this way. Unless you took a chance on a bad pancake house.

How do you guys go about a stack of pancakes?
