My uncle called me last night and asked me if I wanted my Grandfathers old bass boat. He said he has not run it in 4-5 years but when he put it up he drained the gas and made sure it was winterized. The boat itself is a late 80's model and the motor is a mid 80's Mercury 150 or so. He says the wiring harness needs to be replaced because the fuel pump went out and sprayed gas on the harness and caused it to erode. He replaced the pump but not the harness. This boat has great sentimental value to me and I would love to get it back on the water, but I do not have a pile of cash to spend on it. Do any of you have any suggestions for a local mechanic? I live in the Birmingham area. Any help would be greatly appreciated...Huntr
