I set a 50 lb mineral block at the top of my lick and let the rain leach it downhill and into a little depression I made. It becomes like a long mineral trough instead of a hole. When the block is about melted�..I put out another one unless its right before hunting season opens. Usually one or two per year. Make sure to put it out where there�s some clay in the soil and not just sand.
