Saw a black long tailed cat in North Bibb county close to 20 years ago. Spent my whole life in the woods and I don't need anybody telling me what I did or did not see. I have no reason to lie about it and no I was not mistaken. Have not seen another since.

Saw one back around 1980 riding down a dirt road with my dad in epes al(Sumter county). We were going to my dads camphouse on the tombigbee river. Was no mistaking what it was. We had to hit the brakes as it slowly crossed about 20 feet in front of us. My dad knew a landowner in the area that claims he saw probably the same one on his land bordering that road around same time. It was no mistaking what it was. Its always been one of my outdoor fondest memories. And no we did not have a damn camera back then to take a picture as evidence for the naysayers. Was awesome having my dad with me when I saw it.

I used to have deer in my yard until the panthers showed up,now I hardly see them. In the last couple years I've seen 3 or 4 adults and 3 kittens, which were the size of labradors. They're underestimating the population also,I would bet there are 300 or 400 easily.My GF woke me up one night, looked out thw window and a panther had a coon by the throat and he wasn't even close to the ground Scary cats.

Around 1973 I saw a big, long tailed, black cat just above Clayton right on the Barbour County Management area line. We were dog hunting and he ran up on a good friend of mine on the next stand and then turned and ran up a small draw about 15 yards from me. Dogs were running it. Absolutely no doubt what it was, bright clear frosty morning.

^^^^^ This is silly science as usual. It's a fact ALA has cats to the North "TN" and to the South "FL" yet there is no way there are a few big cats in ALA? I've never seen one however no 3 people that have and these 3 people are as credible in my book as it gets. These 3 sighting are all within 15 miles of each other also. I agree. The North Jackson Co. AL , Southern Franklin Co. TN area is arguably the best territory for them in the Southeast. Man you may not of seen one yet 2dogs..but one or two has probably watched you! Them some sneaky sobs! Be safe out there in those mountains. They play the thermals just like you do....
