Hardly news. Gov Ivey has replaced several of the Dept. Commissioners already. I have known for a couple of days. I am certain that you knew much sooner due to your position and connections. But, it MUST be news......because it seems as if hardly anybody else knows and I have not seen anything online or in print, about it. And, it appears that very few on this forum know..... I mean, of course I know. I just want to make sure y'all know. Y'all might have some bad information.

Ok, I'll spill the beans. The new Gov. is going to appoint Troy, our own B'ham Fred, as the new commissioner. She's sick of all the political crap and influence and wants someone that will make a decision and tell it like it is.

I thought Commnr Guy had done a fair job and I will always be thankful for the extended season in the Southern Zone. I know a lot of people have complaints about other things but for me having Commnr Guy get the southern extension done was gold.

Would it be an improvement over what we have? That really is a good question. Can he put an end to the "you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" activities? Or does he join in? Does he correct the PR nightmare that's is upon us now? Or does he just not care? IMO, if he wants to show he's in this to correct a downward spiral between ALDCNR and sportsman, he needs to fire Chuck Sykes. He has made it perfectly clear in his actions and the articles he has written that he views himself as a king and he is dictating what we will do or else. Its a shame what use to be as far as public relations compared to the way it is now.
