One of the guys mentioned that but it being seasonal kinda steered them to other ideas.

It's not "kinda" seasonal.

It completely shuts down

With enough properties one could easily repay the start-up money and make a profit pretty easily in one season. Then everything would be paid for and pure profit.

When I was doing it there wasn't that many people doing it. Now the word is out on the money and everybody is trying to get into it.

I would rather be tried by 12, than carried by 6.

Spray attic insulation in older communities like Mt Brook.
Used truck, new machine, and material for close to 20k.
The profit is very good.

That was me. The rent on the kiosk in the mall went up, and its cutting into my bottom line.

True story!

I picked up three new yards this week because the other guy didn't show up and/or we actually answered the phone.

Yea there's definitely money in the lawn care business once you get established but like someone else said everybody and their brother have lawn care businesses now..Around here some of the ones that have started up the little lawn service businesses are the ex crackheads that no-one will hire.If you could cut 3 yards a day in these subdivisions at $60 per yard by yourself that's decent money..If you get in cutting post offices, church's or any commercial properties they pay very good.I think the post offices around here pay like $200 to have their grass cut.I know our church pays $250 and believe me when you weed eat for 2 hours solid around all the graves in the middle of the summer it's worth every penny then some.Go to bed with your hands tingling from the dang weed eater.I can't really think of anything else that could be a good money maker starting with $20k..Starting out in construction these days will bankrupt your ass in a hurry cause there's already so many folks out there doing it or claim to be doing it.Seen a many "contractors" make a complete mess outta stuff before.

I'd buy four or five Tasers and start a "Tase Your Bro for Fun!" funhouse with beer, pizza and a foam-lined maze.

Buy house for $10k, put $5k in repairs, deposit $5k in savings. Sell house for $30k. Bank statement now says $35k instead of $20k. Repeat. You better know how to hustle and not be afraid of work but the money's there for the taking.

That's my vote ... that would leave you $19,900 to party with

If you are honest , not afraid to cold call, know people that own businesses, motivated enough to go to work everyday when no one is making you, can communicate and deal with many different personality types , talk to mom and pop business owners one minute and multi millionaires the next and and treat both with the same respect , I know a business you can get in for zero money but the $20k sure would make paying the bills easier the first year while you build a client base. ( I didn't starve but I thought I might) It isn't easy but once you've been in it a few years you can take all the time off you want and still get paid every month since it is residual.

I got suckered into a CC processing deal by a smooth talking salesman like that. smile You could have left out the taking all the time you want off part, it wouldn't have stung as badly. LOL
