60 day challenge...I'm all in. And I'm not happy. grin

I even ordered a salad for my entire lunch yesterday and refused to eat 90% of the croutons. I like salad, just never as THE meal. New tricks for this old dog.

Tuesday lunch on road in Georgia: Zaxby's grilled chicken Caesar salad. Water to drink. Delicious actually.

Today...I'm battling serious cravings. So I did what I had to do...heal myself with smoked meat. Hunks of outside sliced pork, pickles, collards, little bit of sauce..no bread, no fries, no starch, no pie, no sweet tea...just water. Savored every bite. So good.

Reason for the post: If I can get serious and make a conscious decision to eat less quantity and eat less carbs and strive to get my weight down, then all of you can too. It's hard, but you can do it.

No sweet tea, no bread, no pie...y'all read correctly.

God didn't give us a spirit of timidity...we are more than conquerors...We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us.

It's only day 3 for me....and I know it will get harder sometimes. I expect to have struggles and temptations. I know I'll probably declare a cheat day at some point---BUT---take the successes and try each day to be active and eat better. Stay positive and live---don't define yourself by a diet. Over a year's time (365 days)...just decide to do well the great majority of those days at a minimum and enjoy life at the same time..maybe even treat with some pie now and again.

Carry on.

There's a low carb bbq sauce my dad bought for his diet one time, and that stuff is good chit. I can't remember the name of it though.

Also, there is a low carb tortilla out there that's perfect for tacos.

I've just about perfected a low carb vinegar sauce (thin) at home. One more little tweak and it's gonna be the standard go-to for a little dab of flavor on some meat.

Wal-Mart sells a sugar free bbq sauce. It's very good for what it is

"G Hughes Sugar Free Smokehouse" is the name

Watch those Zaxby Ceasar Salads. Look at the contents. More fat grams in them that a Big Mac meal. The second meal with no carbs is going to do you more good in the end.

The only problem is that when y'all go back to eating normally, you will gain back the weight plus a few extra pounds and the suffering will have been for nothing.
The secret is to increase activity and as long as you burn more calories than you take in you can eat whatever you want

You can not diet and keep the weight off. You have to change your life style. Most experts say, if you can maintain a healthy diet and exercise for 3 months, it will become habit.

Simply eating less calories or going no carb or what ever is only a short term solution to a life long problem.

Even less calories and carbs if you skip the croutons.

Very true.

Diet sometimes means learning a better way to eat. Eating to live rather than living to eat.

I'm scaling way back from normal because my normal was obscenely too much. I want to cut calories and cut excessive carbs to promote burning fat stores for fuel. At the same time I'm starting to exercise.

Y'all have seen my routine eating. That's just not healthy, even if it is tasty. I'm changing the FREQUENCY of my cheeseburgers and cutting down on the bad foods I eat. That's my "diet" plan for long term. Short term, I'm doing a melt down and really getting the weight off fast, then will adjust.
