Thinking about going with a buddy this weekend to fish Big Creek lake. Is it any good? never fished it, but it's location is hard to beat for me. any tips?

Water is very clear. Don't use braided line. Flourocarbon would be best. If you have some, try throwing a LC pointer suspending jerkbait in shad color.
I started fishing it earlier this year, and have been 4 or 5 times and have caught fish everytime I've been out there except one (wind was blowing about 30 mph that day). There are some nice fish in BCL. I don't know how the lake is this time of year. The fish should be schooling up pretty soon and you should be able to catch them out in the middle of the main lake when they do school up.

On the LC pointers, I don't have any as I can't see spending that much money on a lure that I'm more than likely going to get hung up and lose. The 1st time I went out there, the guy I was fishing with was using one and caught 3 or 4 fish to every fish I caught. He loaned me one and I started catching more fish.

I have been out of bass fishing for close to ten years. I have not even heard of an LC Pointer, but I will look into it, thanks!
