My trolling motor absolutley just quit on me Friday evening. It was off and on when I first put it in the water. Worked fine when it got me a long way from the boat ramp and then just quit.

I have since checked all of my wiring connections and they appear to be good, tight with no visable issues. Battery had a full charge on it and worked all of my other electronics on the boat. I am thinking it may be a bad switch on the foot control. Anyone know a good place to by parts for a 97 model Motorguide?

I have been looking for an excuse to upgrade from the factory model but now is not the time.

I have checked everywhere for a fuse too. There is not one coming to the trolling motor. All of the other electronics running off the same battery work flawlessly.

Check the rubber boot that goes over the switch under the button you press with your foot. If that makes sense. On the foot control, look under the button you press to cut the TM on with, there will be a button that is pressed that will have a rubber boot over it. These are notorious for wearing out. So without the rubber boot, the button may not be pressed fully to cut the TM on. Solution, take a plastic chunk (jig trailer), tear the legs off and jam it in there. If that doesn't work, take it to Alabama Trolling Motors on Hwy 79 in Pinson/Tarrant.
