Our "safe" South Alabama is not so safe any more! This afternoon after I had picked Dev up from her beach stay with her Daddy & Anna, we were headed back across the bay and traffic was backed up on the bridge due to a wreck in the tunnel. We were in the right lane and 2 men were beside us on the left...when we started to move just a little the car tried to merge over in front of us, which he had plenty of room but I guess he thought I wasn't going to let him. The passenger of the car has his window down and leans out with a pistol pointed at me and my baby! He had a hoodie on with the hood on his head and his finger was on the trigger! MY HEART SANK to the pit of my stomach and I panicked! I stopped until they moved on along and a truck pulled in between us! I can not shake the sick feeling that it gave me and the thought of thugs not having any ounce of respect for a human life! Wanted to share to remind everyone to be aware of your surroundings...even on a bridge stuck in traffic! If you don't have your wife a Glock in her car...,...it's time to!

The only thing I will add to this is that Glock's are super reliable and easy to use guns, but you better train with it or they can be a danger. I've seen way too many inadvertent firings from people not being experienced with them. My old Chief lost two fingers when we first went to them.

I wish you had gotten the tag# and called 911. Under stress like that it can be very hard to do all that one needs to do and I hope you are armed for such scenarios.

If you had called 911 the LEO could have been waiting for the jerk.
A vehicle has been proven to be a lethal weapon too. If it had escalated ramming their car would have been an option.

I'm actually glad that I wasn't with Amanda and Devin this afternoon! Amanda probably did what was best by just stopping her truck and letting these fraking thugs go on their way! I can't say I would've done the same. I don't know exactly how I would react but listening to her story my first thought was to ram the car, switch to 4wd and park on top of the car (immobilize the threat) then eliminate (kill everything moving) inside the car!

I don't know what I would've done if I had been in the actual situation but I know exactly what my first thoughts were so I assume that would be my reaction.

I don't care if a thug is black, white, yellow, purple or green!.... Threatening my family means taking my life away from me so you damn well better be ready to sacrifice your own life!

That's just a crying shame. It's terrible the thug got away with it and will probably do something like that again. Thank God your family was ok. Killing is too good for that animal.

It made my blood boil just reading it but she did the right thing. Never been in that position and hope to never be but I can tell you that my Glock is always right there wherever I'm at. It would have a different ending if my family isn't with me. If they are I would probably let the LEOs handle it and hopefully they would handle it right. As in skull drag em down the black top and accidently smash their head in the car door after being slammed face first on the black top for resisting. Glad the family is safe,Hank.

Sickening to say the least , glad she (you) is ok though. I hate naggers and any thugs, no respect and think they can do whatever they want. She (you) did the right thing I believe, if she would have had a pistol I think if she pulled it she woulda had to shoot first, or risk being shot. It's hard to think straight for sure in these situations, if it woulda been me, without a doubt in my mind there woulda been a crime scene on the bridge, because when he pointed his gun he threatened the lives of innocent people.

Not sure if that thug would have felt any better after my 357 spoke. People now a days just don't care. Sad world we live in for sure.

Keep a long gun in your vehicle!

Glad nobody in your car got hurt. These punk bastards think they are tuff as nails and can do whatever they want whenever they want. They will go on to die by gunshot eventually. Sorry you didn't get the chance to do it.

I can say I don't get upset/angry/mad easily but this has done just that.

Not a bad idea, but it wouldn't capture the side views.

True but after they got in front you would have had the vehicle info.

Plus, if you end up putting your front bumper they their skull, you could watch the replay a million times.

With cheap gopro type cameras I can't believe everyone doesn't already have front and back wide angle cameras with audio on every vehicle they own. It's the only thing that will always stand up in court.

My wife has a glock and a rifle and a shotgun in her car but I hope she never gets in a situation of that type.

I don't like glocks so I use other weapons. No glock hate - they are very dependable weapons, just not for me.

I'll give you a much much better piece of advice.
Get her a snub nose double action 38.
