I've got two rods/reels (and several more items) sitting in 26ft of water. I pretty much know within 20 ft any direction where they are. Tried snagging with a big weight/treble hook this evening to no avail. Any other tips/tricks that I might be overlooking?

Go snokeling with a powerful flashlight and a laundry bag. Stick a couple of weights in your pockets to make you neutral, but where you can shuck 'em out in a hurry if need be. 8lbs of weight belt weights is a good starting point. Pinch your nose and blow pressure to pop your ears so they don't hurt.

Let's just say there are two nice rod/reels, a trolling motor, a battery, a pair of costas, a hat, a coffee cup, an I phone and one flip flop down there.

I made it to shore disgusted and with a pop-r hung in my back...which is what started this whole chain of events. (The Pop-R from satan himself)

There's a real good story here but it won't be funny to me for at least another year. laugh

I was able to salvage 2 of the 4 combos this evening but trying to figure out how to get the other two now.

Big ol minnow casting net with the weights around the perimeter and extra rope to make it 30' long. Retrieve and repeat.

Luckily my keys were in my pocket. A small win in an otherwise outlandish scene on (in) the water this morning.

It all happened so fast. grin

In all seriousness, I don't think the flip flop sank, but I only had one on when I made it back to shore and haven't found the other one.

Someone mentioned scuba guys doing a little work on this earlier today. Didn't know if the clarity, temp, etc would be a factor. What type of water is he getting ready to dive?
