The so called war on drugs has done nothing but corrupted a good amount of our legal system and turned the Northern border of our southern neighbor into a warzone, imprisoned many of our misguided children, turned others into medical disasters, financed current and past terror organizations, funded our enemies killing our soldiers Let's just give everybody that wants it enough to kill them and move on. Prohibition doesn't work. It never has and never will. I've never understood why some people think they have a right to tell other people who they can marry, what they can do in their bedrooms, and what kind of chemicals they can put in their bodies. As long as you're not hurt me or anyone else, then knock yourself out. My only problem with that line of thought is when a hospital is forced to care for them when they OD or we will take care of them when they run out of money to legally buy their drugs.

No pain no gain doesn't just apply to weight lifting. If you live a high risk existence you should feel the full negative impact when you fail. When people are too busy being cool in school to study and learn why should it be my problem to feed them when companies aren't hiring IDOTS.

Stop using Naloxone to treat OD'ed patients. Let them enjoy that last hit. Cruel yes, but I wasn't the one the got them addicted in the first place. I hope you never have a child or grandchild that needs it. But if you ever do I would guess you might have a diffrent opinion.

If you think illegal drugs are a problem, you should read up on prescription drug abuse.
It is absolutly mind boggling the amount of drugs some of my patients take on a daily basis and still function. It would scare the crap out of you if you knew the level of legal narcotics people are on while driving our roads every single day. And it won't stop untill they start putting those greedy Dr's in jail. They are no better than the guy selling crack on the street corner and should be treated accordingly.

Do not legalize all drugs, but do legalize recreational Marijuana. Recreational use mind you, not the abuse of the drug. Regulations similar to CO make sense to me and millions of Americans. IMHO, tax revenues and benefits to the state and citizens far outweigh the downside, if any.

If our laws were stricter and quicker then that would help. You steal you lose a hand. An illegal sexual act and they whack off your junk. Kill someone and they execute you quickly. That would solve a lot of problems. We are way too slack on punishment and too slow.

FiFY Doctors don't make money from pharm companies anymore. They prescribe medicine because it's much easier to treat the symptoms than to work on the root cause. They also know if they tell Billy Bob and Bertha to get some exercise and quit eating junk , they are wasting their breath. It's easier to just prescribe a BP medicine and some Type II diabetes medicine. Now, you do have some doctors who will prescribe anything as long as you pay them. Steroids, anti depressants, pain meds, etc can all be gotten as long as you pay for those visits. The medical industry does some great work but big pharma and lazy doctors contribute a good deal towards a complacent and dependent general public.

Drugs are a crutch for many. Legalization is insane. Yes there are the harmless potheads that only live to smoke dope, but what about the people that seek longer stronger "highs or BUZZ? This is mostly due to abused prescription drugs. These are easy to obtain and use.It seems crazy to me that they want to blame the Drug Companies instead of the abuser. In 2012, Alabama had more opioid prescriptions than residents�a higher rate than that of any other state. Chris Christie saw a dire need for change in doctors� prescribing opioids. This state alone saw almost 1,600 drug-related deaths in 2015 alone. Except for patients with chronic pain or cancer and for hospice use, doctors are forced to abide by the restriction. The new legislation also requires many health insurance companies to cover rehabilitating the addicted. With this new legislation, Gov. Christie's new law - if you have a major surgery in his state, then your Dr will be allowed to prescribe you only 5 days of pain meds. That's enough for many surgeries, but sometimes it ain't. That our country has problems with prescription drug abuse is undeniable; that this new law will help even a little bit is very questionable. It will sure make life a lot tougher for some genuinely sick people, but beyond that I don't see that it does anything. This is just a very typical govt response to a problem. People see a real problem and look to govt to fix it. Govt obligies by passing a law that only makes life harder for the people who weren't doing anything wrong in the first place, and the real problem continues on as it was. See every gun control law ever passed if you wanna see something along the same theme. I think a lot of people have views on the prescription drug issue that are outdated. Ten years ago it was indeed easy to find a Dr to prescribe pain meds. Now, most doctors are scared to death of writing a script even to their patients that really need them.
