Marks, I feel for your buddy and their daughter, but there will always be idiots. You say that I am the one that "wants more of this" and that you "don't care about Portugal", yet the Portugal model creates LESS of the examples you have described. By sticking to strict drug laws, we are ensuring MORE occurrences of the same, not less. How has the presence of laws helped to curb her actions? They haven't.
All the status quo has done is likely lock her up and slap her with a felony for possession or paraphernalia.
If/when she gets clean that felony will likely be a massive hinderance to leading a clean life.
Like I said earlier, there is no perfect solution but the status quo hasn't been effective.
