What I've never understood is folks shooting a gobbling Jake just because he gobbles. Most won't shoot a quiet Jake , but if he gobbles they'll shoot him. Kinda like shooting cull bucks, just an excuse to shoot something. If ya wanta shoot Jakes, shoot them , they're legal but don't make excuses.
The Jake = cull buck logic doesn't fly with me
But I know some people haven't experienced cull bucks
Cull buck, excuse to shoot a spike or other young buck with "inferior" antlers.
Gobblin' Jake, excuse to shoot a Jake.
I see a pattern. If ya wanta shoot spikes , shoot them, if ya wanta shoot jakes, shoot them, just don't make up reasons.
