I had a 30 gal. tank with bass, bluegill, and channel cat in it...all were about 4" long when I put them in. The catfish kept biting at the sides of the bass, and eventually killed one and left sores on a couple others. The bream did ok with the bass...they grew faster than the bass, so predation wasn't an issue.
As far as using them for reference in taxidermy work...dunno how well that will work out. Bass are colored differently according to the water conditions in their habitat. Pond bass, for example, are sometimes very light green with a very faint or no black stripe. Fish from tea colored water, on the other hand, like many creeks and lakes in Florida, are a rich, dark color with a very prominent black stripe. ...same with bream.
