Most clubs now a days would frown on a member stomping around in the woods hunting the "old way." Hunting the old way on public land is really a hit and miss situation. IMO most deer killed on public land by folks hunting the old way are killed while fleeing from some other hunter hunting the old way. Also, with the numbers of hunters out these days, who are just a little trigger happy, its very dangerous. So I am just sort of wondering, other than private land, where can one hunt the old way???????
I'm not much on other hunters stomping around, although i've killed deer from ppl doing this but more times than not i've seen the hunter and not the deer. My way of "old school" hunting or whatever yall call it is lookin for signs and setting up in the area and figuring out the time the deer are comming in but putting time in the stand, not looking at a clock on a camera .
