I'm very aware that Dudley Lumber Company owns lots of land in Russell County. I haven't stepped foot on any of it. I can tell you that we lease 3,000 acres that joins some Dudley land and several other land owners. Between our land and all the neighbors, there's every type of habitat, and various ages of timber imaginable including planted pines, clear cut, thinned timber, row crops, sod farm, with hardwood stretches throughout. While it holds tremendous amounts of deer, the turkey hunting is simply average. I would not pay a premium price for an average lease. It's not worth it. With the variety of habitat we have along with our neighbors, I have no reason to believe the hunting would be exceptional a short distance away.
