I'm not wasting more minutes of my life having this same tired old argument. I hope you take the time to research and realize that you're wrong

Now y'all are getting to my line of thinking. That should scare y'all. To me its all about pressure in the form of human presence. A greenfield (or a corn field) once established can be kept human free. Might want to go once to add N to a greenfield. But if someone wants to add more human presence to their hunting area by filling feeders and checking for the need to be filled, I say go ahead. Just not the way I do things.

Thanks central, that is yet another good argument for Greenfield's. Checking feeders (or cameras) regular only increases hunting pressure.

BTW, I haven't looked at it, but does bill include turkeys also? If it does a whole lot of unskilled turkey hunters are going to become turkey killers overnight. I know this can't make the hardcore turkey hunters happy.

Look asshole it's the same fraking thing you plant a Greenfield an ambush a poor little deer when it comes to feed lmao

You mean a greenfield that has nutritional value to deer and other wildlife vs. corn which has no real nutritional value to southern deer. It is all carbs which turns to sugar in the body. Northern deer can use it as it is instant energy that can help them survive the cold winters. It tastes good to them though, so it has about the same nutritional and attractant value as feeding our kids a Milky Way and Snickers diet.

Good post Jawbone

Just because someone doesn't have $15 extra to spend doesn't mean they don't work. For a lot of people thats an hour or more of work. people are already paying $25 for a license and now you want them to pay an extra $15 for a "privilege" to hunt over corn thats not right

See all the conflict that happens over the idiotic proposed bill?
And it is just proposed at this point.

Laws should DECREASE conflict NOT INCREASE it.

There is no conflict between people/hunters/landowners/lessees with the no hunting over bait law.
They should leave it alone.

Correct, but the head of our DCNR does not seem to understand this and instead of working to attract new hunters to the activity, he seems hell bent on driving people away by, like you say, increasing conflict, and making it more complicated to do it legally.

And it is all hunting by definition whether individuals agree with the way it is done or not.

No.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

New baiting bill introduced...

How many laws are really passed to solve a "real" problem rather than lawmakers catering to special interests all in the name of fleecing their pockets under the guise of making things better. This has been a slippery slope ever since they started this BS. I am always cautious about the government telling me they are doing something for my betterment

I hunt Greenfield's, clearcuts, hardwoods, swamps and planted pines. Also have a feeder and a camera in my back yard.
But I don't consider any of those "just like" another. And a planted field of anything is not "bait". If it was, then you could say a pond or an oak tree is "bait" just the same.
