Just for the sake of discussion here ...

Would you pay a $15 license fee to allow you to hunt over bait?

Quote:

The hunter would have to purchase a bait privilege license from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.

The privilege license could earn an additional $15 per year

New baiting bill introduced...

Here's the downside. Say you are in a club with 10 guys. 3 of them buy the baiting license and start throwing corn everywhere..... What's the other 7 going to do?

If legalized, might as well.

Yes. I'm tired of hunting feeling like I need to look over my shoulder because one game warden thinks 100yds/out of site is legal, and another one showing up saying it isn't because of how he interprets the law. This would eliminate that. Just keep in mind that this is Alabama. Any law that makes sense and has potential to pass, most likely won't because of some special interest somewhere in the mix.

Wish if they did it they would make you have at least 15 percent protein in your feeder .

They just cant keep things simple. Heck, game wardens already have to check too much stuff as it is.

its stupid. either its legal or it isn't. you already pay for a license to hunt, that should cover it. Next will a 5.00 bow fee, or a 5.00 rifle fee. What about a 7.00 live bait fee for fishing. Wait, can we do a 25.00 no hunter orange required fee?
it's just stupid, plain and simple.

If it is legalized the law will probably read something like this:
Hunters who have a baiting permit must have a permit sticker on their feeder. The feeder must be exactly 77 inches from the ground around the feeder. The feeder can only distribute no more than 15,000 grams 3 times per day. Feed shall not be allowed to come in contact with soil; however, feed used on non-leased land may be broadcast without restrictions. All feeders must hold no more than 32 kilograms of polyunsaturated feed nuggets or non-gmso corn.

So deer are a pest now like hogs. Can you buy a lifetime feeding permit? I see the cost being added to the hunting license fee itself.

It be's that way sometimes.

I hunt in a club so I would pay it. I figure if one club member buys it, everybody will just to make sure.

One copy of the permit application is to be submitted to the Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources 64 N. Union Street Montgomery, Alabama 36130, and shall include a topographic map, or copy thereof, showing the specific location of the bait site.
