I bought a new bass tracker on memorial day weekend in 2006. Its almost 3 years old. The problem is this. One of the running boards has already become rotton! Was this because its not treated lumber? If so, why would you use untreated lumber on something that goes in and out of the water all the time. What should I do from here?

The boards should be treated, but knowing Trailstar Trailers, it may not be. If it were me, I'd go ahead and change them all out. Get your wood, carpet, SS staples, etc and make the board up at home. Then go launch the boat and put them on at the launch. I changed mine at the launch one afternoon and still had a couple of hours fishing time when I got finished.

where would I get that kind of carpet at?

Any Marine grade carpet should work. You can probably get it at Lowe's or Home Depot. If you can't find it there, you can order some from BassBoat Carpets .
