Yesterday around 9:30 AM, somebody just south of where I hunt evidently just got a new AR and commenced to unload around 90 to 100 rounds of ammo in just under 30 minutes. I also heard maybe a shotgun then mixed in between 13 to 15 shots that may have come from a pistol.
They were back in the afternoon and fired maybe 300 rounds in about 2 hours times.

With it being the last weekend of the season, I would be lying if I said it didn't bother me.

Would this be something the sheriff or game warden could address or since it is on their land, I must just grin and bear it with the season nearly over?

People exercising their rights to keep and bear arms on their own property. And you want to ask the sheriff to stop this?

WTF is the world coming to?!?

My neighbor shot consistently from about 3:30-6 yesterday afternoon. I didn't see any deer but I think it bothered me more than the deer.

I have a semi distant neighbor that pretty often shoots 30-100 rounds of AR ammo up at a pond. It IS annoying and ruins the peace and quiet of where I live. It is what it is.

Nothing you can do about it except talk to them. That probably won't go well. Maybe do hunt close to your property line.

Our old neighbors did the same thing. I would just go join em'. They let me use their ammo, so why not.

Assuming the one doing the shooting owns that property, and assuming you don't own the property "where you hunt" because you didn't call it your property, you are saying a visitor to a property should be able to tell a neighboring property OWNER what to do on their property. Does this really sound reasonable?

Happens around me pretty regularly while hunting. It frustrates me that I feel it sometimes ruins my hunting but it makes me proud they are exercising their 2nd Ammendment rights and I'll take that over hunting any day.

Where I hunt, a guy drives through with a rattling old trailer going to feed his cows sometimes a couple of times a week. Goes in around 4:00 or 4:30 stays 30 to 45 minutes then comes out right before dark. The old road he uses to access his pasture is about 200 yards from my shooting house. Drives me absolutely nuts but he's just doing what he has to do and that's just what I have to deal with if I hunt there. I like hunting there so I keep my mouth shut and hope one day that rattling old trailer runs one across me.

I'll bet the deer are used to the truck/trailer sounds.

My neighbor shot tannerite targets from 4:30 til dark yesterday. I contemplated killing him, as I sat in my shooting house, while the ground shook like an earthquake. But then it's his property and he rarely does that. So it's his right.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

I keep thinking the same thing because they hear it all the time, but I can't remember ever seeing any deer after he's been through. I figure if they are there, they lay low untill after dark, then come out. He did jump a doe bedded down by the road one day, she got on pretty quick. I have seen deer walking straight toward somebody target practicing going to bed down, they were less than 200yds away from the shooting. I shot a coyote the other day 50yds away from a doe, she went on about her business like it never happened. A friend of mine shot a buck yesterday and a spike in the Greenfield came over and started eating right by his dead buck. One day the slightest noise spooks everything around, the next day dynamite wont scare them off. But if were sitting there not seeing deer when we think we should be, every one of us will blame it on a nearby noise or smell. Who knows why they do what they do really. Almost as confusing as women.

Fortunately that is true. I may not enjoy their timing, but then I wouldn't do anything to limit their right to do that.

So it's alright for you to blast a deer at 6:30am after I just got off a midnight shift and trying to sleep? just deal with it.

This is why I've said I don't think most folks want true freedom. They can't deal with other folks exercising theirs.

I'm bad to trade and buy new rifles this time of year. So I'll shoot pretty regular during the season. I do try to be mindful of my neighbors who are friends and will text them to see if they're hunting or not before I have a range session.

My neighbors shoot every sat and Sunday. From daylight til dark. I've had deer in the field when war starts. They didnt even raise their head. Now if my neighbor on the other side shoots they get a little nervous.
