I'm sitting in my truck getting ready to start walking. In the last couple of weeks I have seen two different mature 8s in this spot. Praying one shows up and gets in bow range. Running out of time. Either one would be a good first Feb buck - or any time for that matter. Good luck, everybody!

Well boys it's winding down. More than likely my last hunt this season. In the spot where I shot that 8 point last weekend. There's another good buck in here I have on camera. Hope he shows. Good luck and hunt safe!

Trying to decide if I'm going this afternoon. Carried my bow to Black Warrior yesterday and saw nothing! As usual! To be as nice of a day and cold yesterday I can't believe nothing was stirring, not even the squirrels!

I ended up taking my bow this morning. Had a doe right in front of me but when I drew she caught my movement and took off. Ended up seeing 3 other does but nothing in range. Was a fun season, sad it is over for me but can't wait till next season!

I didn't climb high enough. Spooked one when I stood up.

Took one more crack at Cahaba WMA. Stayed all day. Saw a cowhorn out of range at 9:15 (he was not legal anyway), saw a coon out of range at different spot at 3:30, 5 doe trapped me in my tree right at dark. I didn't run them off thinking of next year which was why I was in that spot to begin with. I knew they were passing through that area in the evenings but didn't know exactly where. Of course they came from a completely unexpected direction and started feeding no more than 20 yds from me. It's amazing how they can completely disappear. At one point a couple of them could not have been more than 10 yds from me. There was a waxing 1/2 moon directly overhead which provided a fair amount of light. I could see the forest floor but I could not see those deer that I could hear right below me. Crazy!
