Just talked to his wife; backpack hung up and he lost his balance getting down from ladder. Fell 20'; VERY lucky. Had his phone handy so he was able to call for help( note to self).
Broken pelvis and ribs. Going to surgery today to determine if pelvis needs a pin or let it heal on it's own. He is about 70.
He lives in Chelsea so fire chief recommended they airlift him to UAB. She said responders did a great job.
