Funny this thread popped up. I've been considering a thumb release but, I'm running angd gunning for elk. The wrist strap stays on all day, it's like it's not there. We round corners, top hills and such and it's common to be right in top of an elk. Thinking the thumb release is more suited for the tree, not sure. I shoot with a Scotts Silverhorn.
