I shoot a Scott that's handheld. I don't leave it on the string though. It only took once reaching to grab it and hitting the trigger and watching it hit the ground for me to realize I needed to find a different way. I do have a D-ring on one end and leave it attached to my D-loop while walking in or not in use. Leave it in a hand warmer that I wear either hot or cold while hunting.
