ABU build some good reels, especially the REVO's.

Well, I've got a 6500 that stripers have been trying to kill for 10yrs to no avail.
My buddy had one that finally went out a few weeks ago. There is no telling how many 10-30lb fish that reel caught with out a hitch. I don't know about the other models but I would trust the 6500 to any freshwater fish out there. twocents

The several I have are very durable reels. I've only used a ABU revo once and I will say that it's about the smoothest reel I've used.

If the reel wears out, the company will repair/ rebuild if you contact them.

i used to use nothing but Abu until i tried the higher end shimanos, the higher end shimanos are smoother in my experience. marks outdoors is a warranty center for Abu and will repair or replace them for free for life

That is good to know. I have a 5500 that is about 8 years old and the drag is gone. I was considering trashing it, but may give them a call.

Abu's are some of the best reels ever made. Got one of the old red Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 5000's when I was in 3rd grade. I'm 30 now and that damn thing is still floating around my brothers rod box. I have two Revo S's now and they are great. Also have 2 Quantum Energy PT's and they are just as good as Revo's, if not better.
