Hunted yesterday and saw 11 does, a spike and a 5 point all within 1.5 hours starting at 7:00 AM CSt. As mentioned earlier, our lease is being cut and these deer were seen about an hour after the guys fired up their machinery. 4 came from where the men were working but the others came from the opposite direction. Not sure if the machinery had anything to do with them being up and moving. I wanted to pop another but none gave me the opportunity.

What is the deal on no more posts? I know I have been lax and complacent also.

I am back at work and I haven't hunted much since returning home from my Midwest hunts. I'm in south Bama so keeping the pressure off my little place until they start rutting or something shows up I'm interested in hunting.

Went yesterday morning. Saw a small 10 pt very young maybe 2 or 2.5 years old. About 30 minutes afterwards, a nice 6 point came out with a messed up rack. Cow horn on one side that had a small sticker off to the side and the other rack was a mangled mess of horns. Really cool looking. After letting him walk, I wish now that i had popped him. He was a larger deer than the 10 point and a little older . I would guess 3 or 3.5 years old.

I haven't seen much but does lately. Planning on heading to one of my known big buck holes Thursday morning though....as long as nothing drastic happens.

Went this last weekend to my buddys club in Chilton county and killed a 125# doe. Seen plenty of bucks, just haven't caught any shooters yet.

Saw grand-pa this morning but couldn't stop him or turn him my way. If I had set up same place as yesterday things may have been different if buck fever didn't strike. Maybe tomorrow.

Seen more deer this season than any of the previous 5 years I have hunted here. As mentioned earlier, we had about 100 acres clear cut and we think it has bunched up the deer in the remaining acreage.
Saw 2 really nice shooters last week but was unable to get on them. I have a few more days off until I return to work Thursday. If only this rain would stop today!!!

I haven't hunted much guys since I got back from the Midwest. It very hard to get motivated to hunt Bama after hunting up there when you are a trophy hunter. I got out of my Dallas Cty lease so that slowed me way down on hunting here.
I'm hoping something shows up on my little personal lease that I'd be interested in hunting. So far the only two mature deer that I have on camera have both vanished. The rut in my are should start to pick up in a few weeks and maybe something new shows up that will light a fire under my rear end. If not I've had a blessed season with the 3 I have killed so no complaints there.
Good luck to you guys that are hunting!!

I would probably feel the same way Squeaky. I had a beautiful tall 9pt on camera last year but nothing that really gets my blood pumping as of yet. I hunt in Dallas County too a lot. How old do you think this buck is? He looks mature to me. [img:left]http:// [/img] This one may get a pass if he lets me get a good look at him. Pretty sure he's only 3.5 [img:left]http:// [/img] [img:left]http:// [/img]

8 point weighed 150 pounds. Had two broke horns if you look close enough at skull cap. Had issues with my camera and this was the best one I got. I had no paper for a sign so he may not be counted in contest. Tried taking selfie but camera would not function properly.

Congrats man. Just try to get a selfie with the same head and rack today and you should be good I would think. I remember I had to write on a paper towel one time. It is hard to remember to do when you kill one.

Been passing up a lot of good 2-3 year olds here lately. Hoping to get a shot or glimpse of a couple bigger and more mature deer I have on my properties. Hopefully this hot weather doesn't mess up the hunting.

I killed a 3.5 year old 12pt this morning. He's the only one I wanted on camera

Went Saturday and found a couple new scrapes big enough for two grow adults to fit in. Off tomorrow and going in the A.M. Maybe I can see one of those big boys.

I have PM'd JeffPIke and CRKelly. They have both been non existent since this contest started. We really need for them to help out. This has been my biggest beef with this contest. Folks that join and never participate in these discussions which makes you wonder if they are hunting and trying to help the total team score.
Do any of you guys know them well enough to shoot them a PM and see if you can nudge them to participate/shoot a doe/shoot a wallhanger?
