Here's what I know about Toyota trucks and I've had a few of them. If the ticking noise is at cold start up and for a few minutes afterward, all you need is a Toyota oil filter. It took me two brand new Tacoma's and a mechanic to figure that out. You put a Toyota filter and it stops. Don't ask me why or how either because I don't know. That truck and the next one never clicked a time but I ran Toyota filters.
If it does it all the time, it could be a bunch of things.
