Not that this matters to me but I learned something there. Didn't know that and call myself keeping up on this. If I'm gonna break the law, I want to KNOW I'm breaking the law. grin

I learned it from reading the law, more people should get them the latest version of Title 9,which is all the laws except 1 that pertain to hunting and fishing, and the DCNR regulations and they can answer their own questions

Didn't know that. I'm doubly exempted, but took the course anyways to hunt in Colorado, which never panned out.

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

David you were already exempt in Alabama, you were born before 77, other states will have different rules.

I know, I should have specified age and LEO. No military exemption for me.

Most people assume that kids cannot hunt by themselves prior to receiving hunter ed. Someone born in 1977 is 39 years old. Reckon how many kids decided not to hunt because of this

Don't know, but like I said earlier, I think the hunter's ed should be mandatory before hunting by yourself unless, especially for those under 16.

I think the logic is that kids under 16 can't get anywhere by themselves,at 16 the got a DL. I will let you decide if that is flawed logic

Y'all both have some good points. However, this doesn't seem to be much of a problem from the hunters side or LE side. At this point, much bigger issues being discussed like whether to neuter Sykes today or wait until tomorrow. grin

To the original poster, hope you got your question answered which is YES, youth can hunt alone.
