Yall do know deer live in Alabama during hot days and cold days. Just go Hunt. If it's 70 and sunny wear shorts and sit in a tripod somewhere. This may be anyone of y'all's last deer season due to who knows what, take the kids or a friend and get outside! Really?? Next thing you know......people will be trying to convince me that fish still live when it is cold! I simply do not care to hunt in this type of weather. It has nothing whatsoever to do with killing anything!! Hogwild I think most of these type post comes from them city slickers. Just because I am not hunting does not mean I am not outside enjoying the outdoors. I live on about 100 acres and spend plenty of time checking things around the property, but I understand a lot of these guys live in the city and have to hunting to enjoy being outdoors. For me I will go hunting when the conditions are good and the deer are moving during the daytime otherwise I will get in the golfcart ride to my two lakes feed the fish, check my cameras and enjoy myself without climbing up a tree and sweating my ass off lol.

Anyone else having a hard time getting into hunting this year with the hot weather? I can walk out my door and hunt but haven't been one time so far this year. I hope this weather breaks and turns cold pretty soon. I did finally plant some plots a few weeks back, so I guess this hot weather is good for the plots, but not good for hunting. I am more of a Jan/Feb hunter anyway, but I usually do a little early hunting just to get it out of my system, but I haven't had the urge to go so far... Yep. Went up to panhandle for doe days weekend and rained whole time and warmer temperatures. Sat one afternoon and didn't see anything. Warmer weather just ruins it. Plots are coming in though and rain definitely helped. Hoping for cold mid to late January and early February during rut.

Yesterday, I went and checked some food plots, which are looking good and are full of tracks, and then went fishing. The bass were tearing it up. When afternoon hunting time rolled around, I watched football instead of swatting mosquitoes. Last 4 afternoons I hunted, I saw 0 deer, lots of skeeters and a bat chasing the skeeters

I've been 1 time for about three hours. Really haven't missed it either. Something about getting older, walking up steep mountains and not the best weather really isn't appealing to me. I'm thinking about going tomorrow, but may just go and try to catch a few crappie.

Same here. Taking a buddy tomorrow but other than that I have been twice when my son wanted to go. I love sitting in woods, just not in 70 + degree weather.

This ^^ I have a pic somewhere of me in shorts hunting while trying to get over the awful crud. I'm always in the mood but life gets in the way more often than not. Just do the best you can with what you have to work with.

Rub it in.  Not all of us have access to the outdoors every day - I know you appreciate it though. I hate the cold. It makes me hurt even when I'm warm and inside. I suppose we're all different and as long as we're all good people than it doesn't matter how we enjoy the natural world.

I've been one time for less than 2 hours and didn't even see a bird. I may go tomorrow afternoon for a while, surely they will start moving soon. John, we finally have some cold moving in down here, starting to get a little itch...

X2 I don't have the lakes but I do have a couple of creeks, and plenty of things to take care of around my place. I am finally starting to get some things done since I haven't been in the woods hunting so much. But that may end soon with this colder weather moving in...
