Ten gallons of gas. Go to their house about 3 a.m. if it's dark and no lights on. Quietly circle the house with the gas. Put a bunch on and around the front and back door so if they rush out they'll walk into it. Spill some roofing tacks in front of the doors, too, in case they're barefooted. Light it and walk away quickly.

I'd suggest 20 gallons but then you'd probably need two people, which means someone would have to be thrown into a well to sustain the cover-up, and that would just get more complicated.

If they're meth heads it's too bad the house won't just blow up. They'd probably live, though, and sue someone and then continue living off the public teat for another 40 years.

If they�re doing meth then just put a crude sign by the road that just says �They�re watching you��..

We fight it every year. Shooting in our pastures and people dumping carcasses on our land. Makes me hate that there are even any deer around. Seriously though, the law enforcement community can help if you allow them to use your property. Same few ones do it every year around our place, everyone knows who the are, just a matter of time.

I don't follow all the info I guess. Are they in a vehicle or on foot? You said "one of our fields". IF they are in a vehicle and going to the same spot, a half-assed GW should be able to catch them even if they vary times and nights. But if they are on foot, never going to the same place twice, different times, different nights, different approaches each time (walk from home and dropped off from vehicle where they can walk home), only 1 shot, cell phone, and in good physical condition....GOOD LUCK!!

I decided a long time ago the only way to handle walking night hunters is to get within 50 yards of and unload a 12 ga 3" turkey gun on their asses with #8 shot, run it dry and leave.

My guess, an its only a guess, is the popularity of game cams act as a deterent. When ever I read about one getting stolen, I question if a night hunter on foot got it after it got him. Also, at least in my area, we don't have the hard, tough, country outlaw that a 10 mile walk in a 40 degree rain is a mere inconvience.

I know of a fellow that had a calf shot by spot lighters and he spent several nights sitting and waiting. It was my understanding that he shot the light and I believe it knowing him. I don't reckon he killed anybody and I don't think he cared.
