BigT beat me to it. I was going to bring up doe days. Did any of y'all hunt before the year 2000? Do y'all remember how good it was? They are slowly bringing back doe days. Hopefully it will be how it used to be.

Better yet, did any of y'all hunt before 1990? How about 1980? Doe days then, buck a day, saw a bunch of deer, got to decide on our own, had good hunts.

We didn't get to decide on our own. They told us when we could shoot does.

This and last year have been the crappiest season I have ever had. The management area will NEVER get my $17 a year again. Public land is down the drain........guess at the start of bow season next year I'm gonna put my name on the " no pickup" list.
God bless America

I'm not gonna lie that I really had no clue about this. I read the rules early season and it didn't even cross my mind. I however hunt primarily bow 90% of my season so doesn't really effect me much.
Yet was trying to get a rifle hunt in the weekend and now I know.

You missed all the hoopla. The QDMA tactics of "shoot dem does" have nearly wiped out most of the deer in a lot of areas, and the 80 does you could legally shoot up until last year can't be sustained, per the state. Wiped them out, really? How could you know unless you knew the total population? Apparently there's no possible way to know the population without gamecheck and we just started that.

How does gamecheck tell us the population? I believe it only tells us how many of the population are killed. I am really not sure how doe days are configured depending on county. How is Winston county any different than Marion county other than when you can kill does? I have hunted both and deer populations seem to be very similar.
