I'm sure mine would be a helluva lot better if I got out much. But I had to save my 2 mo old grandson from some worthless "parents".

Mine has been pretty good considering my season ends January 10 because of shoulder surgery. Killed 1 buck on public land and seen deer just about every time I have been in the woods.

I hate to read that but your grandson is fortunate you care enough to take on that responsibility.

Such a huge contrast to last year when I only saw one deer all of gun season in Alabama. 5 deer and a pig so far this season. Freezer is full and I have had the chance to give away a lot of meat to friends and family. Focus now will be to get my dad and son on their first.

Sounds like you've been doing something much more rewarding than hunting! A few years from now, you will have a new hunting buddy to boot!

Wife and I both have bow kills and my son shot one with a rifle.

Excellent year.

Been mixed for me. Was still scrambling around early season messing with food plots that inevitably haven't come up real good.

Seen some deer and a few smaller bucks. Weather on the weekends is what has been my problem. High winds or temps and I was out of town one good weekend. Been putting off taking off work...75 degree temps next week!

Can't win. But I'm trying to shoot a big one. Seen plenty of deer. Pretty good year based on numbers of smaller bucks I have seen.

Well, it's been super slow for me. I have not seen one deer yet. I've been 5 times so far. What really stinks is the holidays are almost here and here come the hot weather again!

Plus, still trying to learn my way and find spots in the Black Warrior WMA. Reading, reading, researching my tail off but just have too many questions still.

I'm actually ready for the season to end because I plan on scouting every possible weekend in Feb. and March and trying to learn what these deer do up here in N. Alabama.

But congrats to all those who have taken a deer so far!

Be safe and Merry Christmas!

I started off with a nice buck with black powder and one opening rifle weekend for the freezer. Now looking for a nice doe or a good buck for the family's freezer to finish the season.

Our time at camp is always a hoot. We love to have a good time and just be out in the woods. So so far it's been another great year. Now the hunting part has really sucked this year. We have seen some deer but not like in the past years. I guess the drought may have a part in that. We did have 2 kids kill their first deer this season so for me our season has been a success. I can make excuses all day long why our season has been so slow. We got a lot of season left and if it stays slow,oh well. There is always next year.
