I have a serious question regarding some meth head neighbors spotlighting deer in one of our fields. I've contacted game wardens and all but they can't seem to catch them. I'm to my ends wit. Had two year old 8 I let walk 3 times how season what happens I find him dead with a bullet hole in the woods right by the field that gets spot lighted . This is not the first second or third case of it happening it's all the time there slick and slick enough so far not to get caught it's actually two different families which makes the situation worse. My question is what would you guys suggest doing

Roofing tacks have always worked wonders for me if the situation lends itself to that.

I have no suggestions for catching them. My first suggestion would be not to plant a field near a public road. If it's not a public road then a camera set up on your private road should make it easy to catch them for trespassing. Planting a field near a public road is making it easy for the outlaws.
Secondly, I would erect a screen along the road like a fence or plant some sort of evergreen trees that would obscure the field once they're big enough. Once the screen is sufficient, you could resume planting the field.
Good luck catching them. If they live closer to the property than you do, it may be hard to do.

let the GWs set up a decoy in the field, and keep yer mouth shut about it and you, no need to make enemies and warn the meth heads. Usually one time being caught will stop em there.

^^^^^^^^^This. Be careful. Meth heads have nothing to lose. I know it's a tough situation when you invest time and money into the land and wildlife only to have this happen.

The field is not planted but is cut beans we don't plant any thing for that reason but it is off a main road so makes it tough

Get you one of those texting cameras and set it up on the road leading to the field. The GW could be there to greet them pretty quick.

#1,2,&3 is keep your mouth shut. Just like deer, they are easier to come by and don't alter their habits if they don't know they are being hunted.
#4, Contact GW's. Meet them some where else and drive them by in YOUR vehicle so a GW vehicle won't be seen in the area. Knew a GW that used his personal vehicle a lot. They also know who to and not to talk to to get info you probably couldn't.
#5. Be realistic about the GW's. They have a lot more going on than just yours.
#6. Mental stability is not my strong suit. You didn't give enough info for what I would do but NOT KNOWING THE LAY OF THE LAND I probably would be spending some nights in a sleeping bag with the right situation.

If you live close enough or a good neighbor will call GW as soon as they shoot they might catch them retrieving the deer . I'm sure they process them behind their house, GW might be waiting on them when they get back with the deer. That's how some I had got dealt with. Tough to catch those that shoot from the porch , grab the deer and get it behind the hose in a matter of minutes, but it can be done.

If you put roofing nails, etc, out your will end up fixing a lot of your own flats. Do what BhamFred said.

I like the decoy idea coupled with the texting camera. Perhaps you can coordinate with the GWs to send the pics to one of their phones. They could be johnny on the spot.

Like Fred said get the GW to put out a decoy then when you have time plant some pine trees as a buffer by the road it want take them long to grow and put up a barrier .

Misdemeanor, wardens have to be there when its happening in most cases, Info on when, time of night, weekdays or weekends,methods,flashlight,q-beam,vehicle or on foot, those will help the wardens come up with the right plan

If they can see the fields from their houses , it's gonna be tough no matter what approach is taken, tough but not impossible .
