Sitting in some mixed pines/hardwoods, with planted pines to my west, good rubline about 50 yds behind me on an old road bed coming out of pines, in Chambers County.

I'm in s tripod in a cutover. No fog but overcast and wet as hell. Humidity has to be close to 100%.

Nothing like cracking your knuckles while rattling , ouch

I'm set up on the edge of a cutover this morning. The rut should be really starting to kick off here

Also in a tripod in a clear cut. Don't know if this was best choice due to fog settling in.

I'm hunting a swampy thicket this morning with 3 long lanes to see/shoot. I've been watching two fawns feed on water oaks since daylight.

Really foggy in chilton. Decided to sit in a chair on a hillside in a clearcut where I could see down into a finger smz full of briars. Too foggy to sit in the shooting house in the middle of the clearcut.

I'll be there too. Got two Christmas parties tomorrow. One at lunch and one at dinner. I went ahead and took the day off. Gonna try for a quick 3hr hunt in the morning. Good luck today to all.

Decided (for some stupid reason) that I'd go to the National Forest on Cheaha Mtn and just make a big walking loop. Over the river and through the woods, LOL! Lawdy be, I must've covered 575 dozen miles, climbed every ridge in Talladega/Clay counties. Oddly, I saw some deer sign (small rubs and one single pile of poop), but mostly all I heard was hounds barking and trucks popping gravel all over the place. As usual, I don't guess I was even within miles of a deer, place felt like Hiroshima after the nuke bomb, been dogged to death!!!
