Pretty good show. Last couple of episodes I watched he was on a 20+ and a 30+ day trip eating what they killed.

Every time i watch shows like that including the Boddington Experience, Rugged Expeditions, Petersens hunting,etc.... where they're hunting all over the world for Very expensive critters like Desert Sheep, Markhor, Marco Polo Rams, Ibex, elephant,Cape Buff, Bongo,Leopard, Sable, etc... I cant help but think are these guys multi mill/Billionaires?

Very, Very few people including me would ever be able to afford ONE of those hunts in their lifetime, much less what they do in a year. I dont begrudge those people, but if you notice they never talk about the prices of the hunts. A little reality would be much appreciated.

you would be surprised at how affordable(if ya really want it) some of those animals mentioned can be. Cape Buffalo is a prime example if you do your homework and pick the right time/place/hunt.

I spent 16 days hunting Africa in 05, had a great time, spent about $15,000 total.

Some of those others really are expensive due to travel or cost of license/hunts. I really don't care what the cost is, or who pays it. I just enjoy watching the hunts from different areas.

I actually did a Brown Bear hunt in '11 that was about 18K total for everything. What I'm talkin about is the guys that do multiple hunts like that every year. Hard to fathom.
Course I have to work for a living.

Doing these shows is their work and their living. They chose that years ago, pursued it and are good at it. And there are more people than might be expected who go on these kind of hunts around the world.

I would guess that the outfitters give a big discount to people like Shockey also. Best advertisement they can get.

I make part of my living selling hunts and you'd be surprised and the amount of people that go on multiple trips each year.

These guys get paid to go on free hunts around the globe. I guess I chose poorly with my career choice.

I didn't think much of Shockey till I saw his polar bear hunt several years ago. During the night a bear was trying to eat the sled dogs. He stood close and loaded his blk powder rifle. I would have been loading as I ran in the other direction.

I would like to see what the production cost of the episode where he spent over 30 days in Russia to kill a Ram was. Not even including any cost for the hunt itself ,the cost of the trip had to be huge. I love watching Shockey and I love watching his daughter even more. She's a looker!!

His show has always been my favorite. I know he's a dang good moose hunter. I think he shot one that after drying just barely missed the world record.

Shockey is the purist hunter on tv IMO. He will hunt anything, anywhere, anytime. Been watching him a long time. Nice guy also, met him in Reno a couple of times.

I am not a huge Shockey fan. Now that Meateater guy is my new favorite.
