I would go to court and make the GW convince the judge that I was deer hunting. My defense would be that the proof is in the pudding. Dead hog and no dead deer.

Leason learned, keep harvest record in your backpack, under the seat of your ATV, in the boat, golf cart, in your hat, truck, sock where ever. Just have it, it's free. Maybe go as far as putting a copy in every shooting house on your property, laminate it to your rifle. He can fight it and win, but it could have been prevented. Make sure you have a pen/pencil also!
If I walk out public land with a rifle and get stopped, if I say sorry, I was hog hunting. That's not going to fly. Maybe a chance if I had a rimfire, but I doubt it. I take one even if I duck hunt on public land. Proper, planning, prevents, piss, poor, performance! 6 Ps

Andddd another one in favor of government overreach and misuse of power just because it "could have been avoided." There's also nothing in the regs that say you have to have a pen/pencil.

Dang, man, that's at least seven harvest records. They might get a little testy about so many, y'think?

Pay for and take B'ham Fred to court with you for representation. You might win your argument.

I'm not in favor of any overreach involving the government but when you use the high $ equipment that I use to shoot hogs at night, you make dang sure that you have every base covered. Maybe I hunt with too many lawyers and have learned to much about prevention.

Negative, as long as you have one, you are good, unless the harvest record doesn't match the game check submission. Remember the harvest record is for bucks and gobblers. If you don't kill bucks and gobblers, then you have a piece of paper that you printed out, kind of like a hunting license?

Then you will get a ticket! It's pretty simple. If you don't have a hunting license with you, you will get a ticket. If you are stopped in a vehicle without a valid drivers license, what will happen?

This^^

May have to appeal to prove to them you're serious. This is a weird area of the world where seemingly the judge "has to" accept the word of an officer of the court regardless of how much credible evidence you have.

You must be stuck in the past buddy. You don't have to keep a paper license on you, and you don't have to carry a paper harvest record on you. It's all on my phone and perfectly legal.

Harvest record is not in your iPhone, Game check is in your iPhone. You must have both. I'm reaching here, but is your federal duck stamp in your iPhone?

He said the warden didn't ask him If he was deer hunting, he was'nt sure of the law and didn't want conflict so he just took the ticket and went on. Once he seen the $100 ticket he realized the screwing he got

No, using the game check app to record your kills means you don't have to carry a paper harvest record and you don't even have to carry a paper license.

Care to show us your harvest record on your mobile device? We would all like too see it so we no longer have to carry a piece of paper. Looking forward to your response.
