Man. Thermos is a sore subject. Walked my grumpy ass all way back to truck looking for it. Then back to woods and my tree. It was on backside of the tree. Got my walk in though. My tally for the morning in addition to that was sighting of a squirrel and a bulldog.

Yep. I'm a dumbazz. There were rubs in there though so I was semi on track.

What the heck happened to 5-6 mph winds today? More like 15-26 mph!

What the heck happened to 5-6 mph winds today? More like 15-26 mph! That's what happened when I hunted Wheeler a few weeks ago. It started up at 0745 and just kept right on blowing. Congrats to those who've had some success today...wish I was out there and not at work!

I'm in a cutover this afternoon, where my buddy supposedly saw a big buck at dark last night. Maybe this cold weather will push him out a few minutes earlier this afternoon.

Buddy of mine killed a big 9 pt about 11am on our club. We've had him on camera at night for the past month, but today was the first time anyone has seen him. 17.5" inside spread and 20" main beams.

Congrats to those who have killed deer today!!!
That sounds like a hoss, TR! I'm glad to know the big ones are beginning to roam in the daylight around here.
I'm on a greenfield this afternoon in Winston County. I've got a really big 9 point on camera near here and I'm hoping this cold weather will cause him to move before dark.
Good luck, everyone!

Nothing stirring here yet, but it's shaped up to be a perfect afternoon! The wind has laid and it's perfectly still

Finally getting around to some pics. Wardens aged him at 8+. He had 21inch beams and 5 1/2 inch bases.

Fine buck. How much that hog weigh.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
My phone screen does not always work right, usually a lot of misspelled words....

Saw eight total today. All skinheads and a gray fox as I was getting down. Not bad for hunting thick hardwoods.
