Checking in from the Big Pen!!! (Redstone Arsenal). I saw two does at 0700, then had a turkey come off roost about 0715. Haven't seen a thing since. Thinking about trying one of those super-slow Jono stalks and seeing if I can ease up one one!

jhogeland, congrats on the kill! thumbup

Congrats fellas!

I almost took the Aldeer advice of sleeping in and hunting 8-12 on a super cold day. Glad I didn't though, because I saw 9 deer in the first hour of daylight. Just didn't see the one I want.

Redstone really is a big pen. Lots of fence.

There is a lot of high fence where it borders highways and neighborhoods. Out in the woods though it's just five strands of barbed wire and that's it. So it ain't a true "Big Pen" when compared to the Pelham Mtn. region!!! grin Deer can get in/out as they please.

Thinking about going out. I guess I'll have to round up every piece of clothing I own.

Sometimes it sucks living close to the NF.
