I think the up front question for hunters would be, "is it safe to eat a squirrel that has wolves?" Many squirrel hunters wait until after the first frost to insure that the wolves are gone.
I have killed many squirrels with wolves in their skin and usually never pay any attention to them. Often if the larvae is near maturity when the squirrels body temp goes down in the vest they will move out and when you get home he will be in the hunting vest. I usually just skin um as they didn't have any.
However, occasionally, when I get one that has multi wolves and look "nasty" I will just throw them away.
The bottom line is, "since the wolf is in the skin and not the meat there is no danger in eating them."
