Had pictures of this deer last year with a skinner rack but never could see him in the daylight. Once season started he went nocturnal and didn't see him. This year had pictures of him on the same greenfield during the day but once season got into full swing he left just like last year. Yesterday I decided to go to this greenfield and spread seed out while walking to my loc on. Around 4:15 I noticed two deer and entered the field. Both bucks but turned and started walking away from me. The smaller buck got startled and they both started feeding back towards me. At 40 yards I drew on the deer but the wind was blowing the tree infront of my stand, and it leaves were blocking my view of the deer, so I let down. The buck was nervous but walked closer to me and I let an arrow fly when he was 32yds out. I hit him alittle back. After 30 minutes I got down and looked and my arrow that was covered with dark red blood. A couple guys came to help me look but after about 75yds we backed out for a couple of hours since he wasn't bleeding that great. After we returned we found blood and trailed him so more and lost blood. I eased forward shining my light and spotted the buck bedded down with his head up. Neither one of us had a gun( dumb move) so we marked the spot and went back to camp. After returning with the gun we had trouble finding exactly where we were(?even using a gps), but finally found him. He had died while we were gone. Probably my best buck with a bow.
