I'm looking for a light weight hunting boot with around 400 grams of insulation and waterproof. It needs to be comfortable to walk in. What have y'all had the best luck with?

I just bought the danner steadfast from cabelas. They had them on sale for $59.99 a couple weeks ago. I posted it on here. So far I like them. They are comfortable and my feet didn't get cold Thursday morning. Have only hunted in them once so far.

What type of hunting? If it's steep mountain hunting, get something proven with ALOT of ankle support. Nothing worse than twisting an ankle on the mountains, except blisters maybe. I've had good luck with rocky boots on the less steep stuff.

I've had good luck with Lacrosse boots on the less steep stuff. My Kenetrek's have my mountain boot needs covered. I'm looking for something to wear in Alabama. I normally wear rubber boots in the swamps, but looking for something for when I hunt the hills.

I have some 8-inch lace up Wolverine boots they made about 3-4 years ago. Wish I had 10 pair of them. Most comfortable ones I've ever worn, good stability, good sole. I think the new version of them is the Edge Extreme.

I feel for you. I ripped another hole in my 12 year old Larcross Alphaburly's and the sole was starting to come apart to. I thought I'd chunk them and buy new ones. I shopped around the last couple weeks and sticker shock floored me. I cleaned them bitches up and bought some shoegoo. I'm sure they will leak again but with Global warming and all I won't die from Hypothermia here in Alabama.

Dinner east ridge. I've worn a lot of boots and they are by far the most comfortable. Mine are going on two years, thinking about sending them back to danner to be rebuilt because the sole has no traction left. Nice boots. Pricey, but they are American made.

I bought a pair of Danner Rivot 8" GoreTex and they have performed well so far. Made in USA. Made the mistake of buying Chinese made Danner Jackall boots and Irish Setter Vaprtrek. Both leak like screen door. Danner offered to replace the Jackall and that's when I decided to go with one made in America.

I had a light weight pair of Lacross boots a few years ago. I don't think they make them anymore. The game winner boots at Academy are the only thing I have seen that was close to that. I wear boggs but they can get a little warm.

My insulated Bean boots are the most comfy I've ever worn. They are plenty warm with light socks but are oversized enough to wear thicker socks if needed.

My not be terribly ightweight, but I use a pair of 10" Matterhorn boots from my Fort Drum Army days as my general Alabama hunting boot. I have a pair of Scarpas for the West, but like the MH's because they are warm and waterproof.....8" always seems to get my feet wet. Should be able to find a pair pretty cheap on ebay or the like.
