Yep. It's on the verge. Scrapes are all over now. This foul weather the week ahead should be just right!

My buddy killed a nice 6 point early this morning. Came In after him grunting a few times. Scent wicks brought him right under the stand. Sounds like they are right on time. Headed north tonight.

I'm in north limestone near the elk river and have hunted all week long. Haven't seen any bucks chasing only searching! Moon ain't been good for daylight hunting either.

LOL! I actually went and checked out Double Mountain. I live 30 minutes from there and never heard of it. It looks like the petting zoo at Oak Mountain.

Well the chasing or rutting has began in north limestone! Had a shooter chase 4 does around the field in the rain this afternoon around 4:15. He ran them in and out of the field so much and wouldn't stop so I could get a steady shot on him until it was nearly past shooting light. He finally stopped quartering towards me at about 225 yds. Knowing it would be my last chance of a long week of hunting and not seeing any shooters, until next Saturday, I decided to squeeze one off. Needless to say I missed my mark and he just stood there! None of the 8 deer that were in the field even ran more than 10-15yds! I chambered another round while telling myself that was stupid, you know it's too dark and too late to be throwing up pop shots! I then watched for about 10 minutes as he chased a small 4 point out of the field and then went back to harassing all the does. If I can get outta some of my duties tomorrow I may see if he's still at it. I don't know if I can work all week not knowing, I knew I should have taken this next week off instead of this one...

I think I missed it by a weekend. Not ready where I was in Elkmont. I hunted all day today and saw 17 does, spike, and 4 point. Neither were chasing or trailing. I did hear more shots this afternoon. If you can be In the woods this week, I would take advantage they are on the verge.
