Tag sandwich isn't always a bad thing.
I've bow hunted KS the past 9 years and I've brought back a few tags and a few decent deer.
Not calling any of you out, but a lot of times when guys go for the first time or two, they see lots of 140" 8 points. In reality those deer are normally 120 class 8 points. After going a few times they'll come back to camp saying they saw a few 120 class 8's. A true 140" 8 is a great deer if he's mature. 155" 3 year old deer is a no no. I've let some 150's walk and kill a 140 the next day. The locals out there are all about age and not inches. I'm not sure what to say you should expect other than seeing a lot of really good looking young 8's, but patience can pay off even though it may mean bringing a tag back home occasionally.
