Anybody know of a deer processor around the Decatur/Hartselle area other than Weavers? I have used them and Rocket city meats but thought I might could find one a little cheaper. Thanks.

Yeah, hames. From Moulton, go to 5 points(?) gas station and take a hard right. Follow that road around a couple miles. He's right on the road on the right.

Hames... Bryan has always treated me right. I like how he vacccuum packs things and he can make some great sommer sausage. I've used lou allens and would use him again if I needed toits just a bit further drive for me. My parents only live a few miles from Weavers and I wont even think about using them agian.
Hames SHOULD be opening up real soon he is only open during deer season. give hime a call they usually have a recording telling when they will open if they are not open now

What is the average price charged by processors for processing a deer in the Elmore/north Montgomery County area ? I've always done the job myself and don't know.

Do they expect the deer to be skinned and quartered, first ?

Thanks for any help. I'm thinking of using one this Fall.

Most prices vary depending on what you want cut out of the deer. Most I've dealt with charge to skin and/gut.

Yea but i will guarantee the meat in that sausage is not from "your" deer.

I know that for a fact. its REAL hard to believe that a >100lbs doe will yeild 70lbs of meat but thats what they TRIED to give me last time I ever carried a deer there.

Thanks, skullworks. I'll skin and gut them...just need them processed.

If I bring in a gutted, skinned, quartered deer...what is the average price charged for cutting the meat into steaks; and grinding sausage and hamburger, etc. ? I can't find any prices quoted.

Thanks.

Guys I will say that my buddys father is the one that owns weavers. And well I wouldn't trust anyone except dennis with my deer. I hunt in colds county and take everything to him. But that's my personal opinion. Give dennis weaver a try and I promise you wont be dissapointed
